Katherine L. Ulibarri

Katherine (Kathy) Ulibarri is the owner of K Ulibarri Consulting, LLC, which was founded in 2018.  Through K Ulibarri Consulting, LLC, Kathy is able to share her rich experience as a senior level executive with others in need of executive coaching, strategic planning guidance, and management consulting expertise.

Prior to forming K Ulibarri Consulting, LLC, Kathy served as Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) Vice President for Finance & Operations from  2007 to 2018, providing dynamic senior level leadership at the state’s largest community college. In her Vice President role, she served as the Chief Financial Officer for the college and oversaw a diverse range of operations, including strategic planning, institutional research, finance, treasury management, accounting, information technology services, construction, maintenance and operations, human resources, labor relations, procurement, contracts and grants, among other leadership duties.

Prior to being elevated to Vice President of Finance & Operations, Kathy served as Executive Director of Planning, Budget and Institutional Research at CNM from March 2006 to June 2007. In this role, she developed CNM’s budget, oversaw the sale of revenue bonds, developed CNM’s strategic plan and directed institutional research and contracts and grants, among other duties. She started at CNM in 2005 as Special Assistant to the President.

Prior to joining CNM, Kathy served in the New Mexico Higher Education Department as Deputy Director and Interim Cabinet Secretary for Higher Education from 2004 through 2005.

Kathy also served as the Budget Director for Albuquerque Public Schools (2001-04); she held several posts at the New Mexico Commission on Higher Education (1995-2001), including Director for Finance; and she worked at the University of New Mexico (1988-95), including three years as Director for Cooperative Education.

Kathy earned her Masters of Public Administration from the University of New Mexico (UNM) in 1993 and her Bachelors of Business Administration from UNM in 1987.

She also contributes time to a variety of boards and organizations, such as the New Mexico Finance Authority where she was elected treasurer, and Homewise, Inc.
